Galiette
Robert J. Galiette is an attorney in
corporate practice with over twenty years of experience both in-house for
major corporations, and subsequently for a regional law firm, for a
500-attorney international law firm in New York City, and as private
counsel for corporations. He holds a masters degree from Brown University
in immunopharamacology, and a law degree from the University of
Connecticut School of Law. His principal areas of practice are in
insurance, reinsurance and intellectual property. He's admitted to the
bars of Connecticut, New York and the District of Columbia, to the bars of
several State and Federal courts, including the U.S. Supreme Court, and is
a registered patent attorney with the Patent & Trademark Office, U.S.
Department of Commerce.
For nearly the past two
decades Rob has volunteered his time to serve as counsel for
the Society of Paper Money Collectors. He's a founding member
of the Currency Club of New England and a member of the
American Numismatic Association. He also is a member of other
specialty associations such as the John Reich Society, the
Liberty Seated Collectors Club, the Barber Coin Collectors'
Society and, during its former existence, the Essay-Proof
Society.
Rob's principal interests are in
the publications of these organizations, and in books and personal
research associated with insurance, banking and corporate histories.
He enjoys pursuing some of these interests through facilities at Yale
University, where his two children are students.
